Ian Anderson

Ian Anderson’s new album Homo Erraticus is out now across the world and placing high in the official album charts of the UK and Germany #14 UK Top 40 Album Charts and #13 Official German Album Charts. It is released via his own label imprint Calliandra Records, in conjunction with .

In 1972 Jethro Tull released iconic concept album Thick As A Brick, based on a poem by child prodigy Gerald Bostock,  and with Homo Erraticus Bostock is back.  Following a 40 year political career, Bostock reunited with Anderson.  Homo Erraticus marks his return to songwriting.

The next epic voyage into the Progressive Rock pantheon of strangeness.  Homo Erraticus is an old-fashioned prog record: it has narrative heft and ideas tied to the ’70s, where jazz, classical, folk, orchestral pop, and rock all commingled in a thick, murky soup. Divorced from Jethro Tull, Anderson favours fruitiness — he likes ripe melodies and baroque arrangements that showcase either his flute or the dexterity of his band.
